The Commission on Global Social Work Education works with other international organizations to promote international programs and projects and to develop the international dimension of social work curricula.

Commission Charge
The commission's charge, as per the CSWE bylaws, includes the following:
- To shape and advance the global agenda of CSWE
- To provide leadership in global social work education, practice, policy and research
- To collaborate with international organizations
- To enhance the inclusion of the global dimension in social work curricula
- To advance the human rights and social, economic, racial, and environmental justice mission of social work education in the global context.
- To recognize and elevate leaders in global social work.
- To promote and support the mission of the Katherine A. Kendall Institute for International Social Work Education
Awards & Lectures
Hokenstad International Lecture
The Hokenstad International Lecture series was launched in 2007 through an endowment from M. C. “Terry” Hokenstad, a former president and long-time member of CSWE. The lecturer will be provided international airfare (economy class), 2 nights of hotel accommodation, a conference registration, and an honorarium of $1,000 (US).
