Practice Doctorate Program Training
Practice doctorate programs can seek accreditation via two distinct pathways:
Temporary Alternative Pathway (TAP): one-year initial accreditation process for existing practice doctorate programs that meet eligibility requirements
Traditional Pathway: three-year developmental model for programs that are not eligible for, or choose not to pursue, the Temporary Alternative Pathway
The CSWE accreditation team offers a distinct hybrid training for each pathway. Our hybrid training course model consists of two components:
» Self-paced online learning modules
» Live virtual Q&A sessions
2025 AS Practice Doctorate Training for the Traditional Pathway
The training is tailored for practice doctorate social work programs pursuing the Traditional Pathway to initial accreditation. This training also prepares accredited programs for continuous compliance under the 2025 Accreditation Standards for Practice Doctorate Social Work Programs.

2025 AS Practice Doctorate Training for Temporary Alternative Pathway
